IRCTC has introduced pay on delivery of a new facility on its the www.irctc.co.in website and the mobile app itself to facilitate the travelers who don't feel comfortable sharing their details online!
With the help of IRCTC POD facility, the customer can book train tickets online and pay at the time of delivery. but, this facility is not available for tatkal tickets as this facility is available for passengers who are willing to book their tickets at least 5 days prior to their journey. So far about 600 cities across the nation have been covered where people can avail the benefit of the new initiative.

How does Pay on Delivery work?
- Book your ticket by selecting e-ticket option
- Select the Pay on Delivery as the payment option
- Once you do this, you will get a confirmation SMS
- The ticket printout will then be delivered to you at your doorstep at the given address and the ticket fare will be collected along with the delivery charge.
- The Payment on Delivery option is available only for e-tickets.
