Maharashtra government earlier put a hold on the decision to run trains from Mumbai to
Konkan districts for Ganesh Chaturthi due to insufficient preparedness
for covid-19.
Earlier Central railway had planned to start four pair of a special train for
Ganesh Chaturthi Ganeshutsav.
As per the proposal sent by the Maharashtra government to the Indian
Railways on last Saturday, The Central Railway has planned to start the
special train service from 12 August and till 6 September 2020.
Two trains will run from CSMT station to Savantwadi station and another
to train run from LTT to Savantwadi station.
These trains will have 24 coaches in which 4 out of them will be general
class coaches.

Ganpati special train time table
- The first train will leave CSMT at 10:00 p.m. and will reach Savantwadi at 10:00 a.m. the next day.
- Second Ganpati special train will leave CSMT at 1105 p.m. and will reach Savantwadi at 9:15 a.m. the next day.
- The third special train will leave Ltd at 8:30 p.m. and reach sound body at 60 5 a.m. on the next day.
- Fourth Ganpati special train will leave LTT at 11:50 p.m. and will reach Savantwadi at 12:20 noon on the next day.
Ganpati train stops
- The trains from CSMT station will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha stations in both directions to help train travelers.
- The other two trains from LTT station will halt at Thane and Panvel stations.

The Maharashtra government requested the Indian Railways to provide
railway special train service for traveling of people from Mumbai to
Konkan for Ganesh Chaturthi.
Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated on 22nd August 2020.
Many people from Mumbai and nearby areas travel to Konkan districts like
Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg during the 10 days Ganeshutsav.
